At Ceromaze, our flagship product was a wearable device that would supply filtered and sterilized air to a user. It would rest around the shoulders and extend just past the clavicle. As a wearable device, it was imperative the fit would be comfortable and inclusive to all populations.
The ergonomics of the upper shoulder is not well transcribed – much of my work was inventing systems to evaluate and generate “best fits” for various body shapes. Eventually, we had settled on a 5 part device where each component could be interchanged depending on the body size of the user. This allowed us to have many sizes with only a few parts. Of course, the onus was then on me to invent a system of components that could do just that.
This system was designed and we were several months away from pre-production before the end of my tenure.
